Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal breaks up tattoo ink into particles small enough for your body to carry away over the following weeks. It is a staged process spread across multiple sessions, and appointments run up to about an hour depending on the size of the piece. Pricing runs from around $250 to $1,000 depending on size.

Priced by the size of the piece. Larger or multi-colour work sits at the upper end.

Removal is slow by nature, and I would rather tell you that up front than take your money on a false promise. Each session lightens the tattoo; your body does the actual clearing in the weeks between visits.

How many sessions you need depends on the size, the ink colours, how deep the ink was placed, how old the tattoo is and where it sits on your body. Black ink responds most readily. Some colours — certain greens and light blues in particular — are stubborn, and a few pigments never clear completely.

A good portion of the removal work I do is correcting cosmetic tattooing that did not go well elsewhere. If you are in that situation, bring photos and I will give you a realistic read on what can be improved, including whether removal or a correction is the better route.

Questions people ask

How many sessions does removal take?

It varies enormously — size, ink colour, ink depth, tattoo age and placement all matter. This is not something anyone can answer accurately from a description, so I would rather see the tattoo first. What I can promise is a realistic estimate rather than an optimistic one.

Will the tattoo disappear completely?

Often it fades dramatically, but complete clearance is not something I will promise. Black ink generally responds best. Some greens, light blues and certain white or flesh-toned pigments are genuinely difficult and can persist. If I think your tattoo will not fully clear, I will say so before you spend anything.

Can you remove badly done permanent makeup?

Yes, and it is a meaningful part of my removal work. Cosmetic tattoo correction needs a careful hand because of how close the work sits to the eye and lip. Send me photos and I will tell you honestly whether removal, lightening ahead of a cover, or a straight correction gives you the better outcome.
