About

I’m Hunny.
This is my work.

Hunny Niki, founder of Cosmetics by Hunny

I did not come to this the usual way. I have a degree in psychology and I spent more than fifteen years in interior design and architecture, including building Studio G3 Glass into a business that sold globally. That sounds unrelated to what I do now, but it isn't. Both were about precision, structure and proportion, and about paying attention to what someone actually wants rather than what they ask for first. That is most of this job.

I left construction and followed the thing I actually cared about. I certified in permanent makeup with Biotouch Canada a decade ago, completed an 800-hour Master of Cosmetics under Mano at BC Medical Aesthetic, and later trained in electrolysis through a 500-hour program at the Swanson Institute. I am now a Directing Instructor at BC Medical Clinic.

Teaching became the part I care about most. Every course I run is hands-on and personally mentored, built around the practical business knowledge nobody hands you with a certificate. I want students who leave able to work, not just able to pass, and I stay reachable long after the certificate is on the wall.

What I care about with clients is the result looking like you. Not like a trend, not like a treatment, and not like something you have to explain to people. That is the whole thing.

How I work

A few things I believe

01

I won’t guarantee you a result.

Anyone who does is either not being straight with you or doesn’t understand how bodies differ. What I will do is tell you honestly what I think is achievable for you, before you spend anything.

02

Cheap work costs more.

A meaningful share of my removal and correction work is fixing treatments someone got at a discount. I’d rather be the person you come to first.

03

Sometimes the answer is no.

If the treatment you’ve asked for isn’t right for your skin, your hair or your situation, I’ll tell you and suggest what is — even when that means sending you elsewhere.

My other practice

Dermatech Electrolysis

Permanent hair removal by electrolysis — the treatment that works where laser does not, including grey, white and fine blonde hair, and hair driven by PCOS or hormonal change. I run this through Dermatech Electrolysis, a practice that has been serving clients for three decades and which I took over in 2024.
